Since 1995, we’ve been redefining what it means to be a neighborhood pawnbroker—combining professional expertise with a family-first atmosphere.
From Industry Roots to Hometown Service
The Foundation
The Porter’s Pawn story began long before our doors opened in Arkansas. In 1992, our founder, Shane Porter, began his career in Tulsa, Oklahoma, learning the industry from the ground up under the mentorship of some of the most respected pioneers in the business. After years of managing high-volume locations and mastering the complexities of pawn operations, Shane felt a calling to return to his roots.
In 1995, Shane returned to his hometown of Mountain Home, Arkansas, to establish Porter’s Pawn. His vision was simple: take the professional standards of a large-scale operation and deliver them with the "clean, organized, and friendly" personal touch of a local family business.

A Family Tradition
Today, Shane operates two Porter’s locations alongside his wife, Jacqueline, and his brother-in-law, Patrick. Together, they bring over 50 years of collective expertise to every transaction.
